Restonim = secure AI
Document pseudonymisation with controlled restoration
Restonim replaces confidential information in documents with tokens before you pass a document to an external AI tool, and lets you restore the original values when you decide.
Why it matters
Confidential documents travel further than you think
Restonim helps limit the disclosure of information protected by law and by contract when a document goes to other people or to external tools, including AI tools. Protecting personal data is only one of these needs.
Professional confidentiality
Information entrusted to members of regulated professions in the course of their work.
Legal professional privilege
Information obtained by lawyers in the course of providing legal advice and representation.
Trade secrets
Technical, technological and organisational information that has commercial value and is protected by the business.
Confidential business information
Contracts, strategies, financial results and counterparty data that should not leave the organisation in readable form.
Official secrecy
Information obtained in the course of official duties, for example in public administration and the justice system.
Personal data
The GDPR names pseudonymisation as one of the measures for protecting personal data (Articles 25 and 32), but this is only part of what Restonim offers.
Restonim supports the protection of this information, but using it does not by itself ensure compliance with the law or with professional obligations.
Working with AI
Use artificial intelligence. Keep control of your data.
Restonim is an application installed locally on your computer. Before you pass a document to an external AI tool, Restonim replaces confidential information with special tokens, e.g. [[PERSON_000001]]. The information needed to restore the original values stays on your computer. When the document comes back from the AI tool, Restonim restores the original values in it.
Local pseudonymisation
Confidential information is replaced with tokens on your computer.
Working with an AI tool
You pass the pseudonymised document to an AI tool of your choice — yourself, never automatically.
Local restoration
The original values return in place of the tokens when you decide.
Restonim uses advanced cryptographic mechanisms to protect data and to control its integrity.
Pseudonymisation limits the confidential information passed to AI providers, but it does not make it certain that all such information has been removed from the document. It is worth checking the document before passing it on.
How it works
Four steps under your control
This is how working with a document will look in the launch version of Restonim.
Document
You work on your own document in the Restonim application.
Pseudonymisation
Confidential information is replaced with pseudonyms, e.g. [[PERSON_000001]].
Further work
You can keep working with the pseudonymised document, including in external AI tools, while limiting the disclosure of confidential information.
Controlled restoration
When you decide, the original values are put back in place of the pseudonyms.
Launch version
What Restonim will include on launch day
Restonim is being prepared for release. We describe the scope of the launch version — none of these features is yet available for purchase.
Local processing
Documents will be processed on your computer, without their content being sent to servers.
Pseudonymisation
Confidential information will be replaced with tokens, e.g. [[PERSON_000001]].
Working with AI tools
You pass on the pseudonymised document yourself, and the result comes back to Restonim.
Controlled restoration
The original values will return in place of the tokens when you decide.
OCR for scans
Text recognition in scanned PDF documents — on Mac computers with an Apple Silicon processor and macOS 26 or later.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
When will Restonim be available?
Restonim is being prepared for release. We are not yet announcing a launch date. Please join the waiting list — we will notify you by e-mail when the application becomes available.
Is joining the waiting list a purchase or a trial registration?
No. Joining the waiting list serves only to notify you by e-mail when Restonim becomes available. It is not a purchase, it does not activate a trial and it does not create an account or a licence. You can unsubscribe from the list at any time — there is a link in every message.
How much will Restonim cost?
Planned subscription prices (gross, in US dollars): $9.99 per month, $24.99 per quarter and $74.99 per year. Details on the pricing page. Sales have not started yet.
How does pseudonymisation differ from anonymisation?
Pseudonymisation replaces identifying information with pseudonyms in a way that allows it to be restored later using additional information. Anonymisation is irreversible — afterwards it is no longer possible to tell whom the data related to. Restonim is a pseudonymisation tool, not an anonymisation tool.
